When your Carefree Services account is first created, it will only have your name and email address associated with it.
There are several things you can do to customize your user account and add needed information for alarm delivery via SMS.
## Authenticating Your Web Session
CarefreeSCADA utilizes a Multi-Factor Authentication system so that if your login is compromised, a bad actor is not able to make any changes in your name. To authenticate your session and gain access to alarms and controls, follow these steps.
1. Click the Padlock Icon next to the user icon.
2. This menu will give you all the contact methods associated with your account, either email or text message (SMS)
3. Click on the “Send Code” button in-line with one of the options to send a code to that address or phone number.
4. You will receive a 6-digit number to enter into the “Verification Code” field and click the “Submit” to authenticate your session.
5. To lock down your session again, if you are walking away from your computer and do not want to log out, click the padlock icon again.
## Adding a Phone Number
Phone numbers can be used for recieving alerts from the CarefreeSCADA system, as well as authenticating sessions to verify you are who you say. To add a phone number to your account, follow these steps.
1. Authenticate your session as detailed in [[#Authenticating Your Web Session]]
2. Click the user icon in the top right corner of the Web Page.
3. Click the “My Account” button
4. On the My Account dialog you can see a few details about yourself, many of which have already been filled in when your account was created by Carefree Support, or your Supervisor.
5. To add a phone number, click the “Add Contact Info” button near the bottom of the window.
6. Select SMS as the “Type” of contact info, then put in your 10-digit phone number in the empty field to the right and press the “Add Contact Info” button to save.
7. You may now close out of the “My Account” window.
## Changing Your Password
When your user account is first created by Carefree Support or your Supervisor, a password is automatically generated so that you are the only one who knows your password.
To change the password to something more personal to you, or easier to remember, follow these steps.
1. Authenticate your session as detailed in [[#Authenticating Your Web Session]]
2. Click the user icon in the top right corner of the Web Page.
3. Click the “My Account” button.
4. Under your name, click the “Update Password” button.
5. Enter your new password into the available password fields, and click the “Save New Password” button.
6. You may now close out of the “My Account” window.
## Changing Your Theme
CarefreeSCADA has six theme varients that you can choose from to personalize your experience, to change your personal theme, follow these steps.
1. Authenticate your session as detailed in [[#Authenticating Your Web Session]]
2. Click the user icon in the top right corner of the Web Page.
3. Click the "Change Theme" button.
4. From the window that opens, you can preview how each of the themes will appear.
5. Once you have your theme selected, you may close out of the "Change Theme" window.
