## What is the Audit Log?
The Audit Log is a record of all significant actions taken by users in your CarefreeSCADA system. It provides clear visibility into who did what and when — making it a valuable tool for accountability, incident investigation, and security review.
> **The Audit Log is accessible only to users with the [[User Permissions#Manager|Manager]] role.**
## What the Audit Log Records
The Audit Log captures the following types of events:
- **User Login Events** — Successful sign-in attempts, including the time and username.
- **Alarm Configuration Changes** — Any changes to alarm modes, limits, delays, or notification settings.
- **Control Actions** — Operational commands sent through [[Site Controls]], such as setpoint changes, on/off commands, and Auto/Manual mode switches.
- **User Management Actions** — Adding or removing team members, editing user details, and role changes.
## How to Access the Audit Log
1. From the left-side navigation bar, click **Manage Team**.
2. Click **Audit Log**.
> **Note:** The Manage Team section is only visible to users with the Manager role. If you do not see this option in the navigation, your account does not have Manager-level access. Contact your system Manager or Carefree Support for assistance.
## What Columns are Shown
The Audit Log displays a table with the following columns:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| **Timestamp** | The date and time the action occurred. |
| **User** | The username of the person who performed the action. |
| **Action Type** | The category of action (e.g., Login, Alarm Change, Control Action, User Management). |
| **Details** | A description of exactly what was changed or what action was taken. |
## Filtering the Log
You can filter the Audit Log to find specific events more quickly:
- **By Date Range** — Set a start and end date to view activity within a specific time period.
- **By User** — Filter the log to show only actions performed by a specific team member.
Filtering is useful when investigating a specific incident, reviewing what changes were made before an operational issue, or generating a summary of activity over a reporting period.
